“Supercharged” by Charge7 (Electronica artist from Los Angeles, California (CA))

"Supercharged," is an electro-pop album with elements of rock, dance, club, and hip hop by Charge7. The album is full of insane electro beats, and is recorded crisply, eager to boom from the speakers of any dance club in the world. Charge7's musical capabilities are both astounding and diverse, ranging from hearty rock ballads to intelligent hip-hop to emphatic electro beats. The vocals are also quite impressive and diverse; some are styled similarly to modern mainstream pop rock bands while others take from the classic rock sound and still others from the hip-hop world. The lyrics are risque and work hand in hand with the bending of genres. "Like a Shadow in the Dark (M7 Platinum Edit)" opens the album with a catchy yet meaningful and heartbreaking chorus line, "You're the one that I adore, but you don't want me anymore." "It's Gonna Be Alright (M7 Unplugged Edit)" is a temporary departure from the electro realm into a piano-centered ballad that demonstrates Charge7's lyrical and instrumental talents. "Supercharged" is indeed supercharged, full of cutting edge songs with a variety of influences. If you enjoy innovative electro-pop that fuses genres, plan a house party and check this one out.
